SPECIAL EVENT SCHEDULE 2009-2010
Friday, May 21: Highlands Center, North Truro On May 21, 2010, fifteen members of CCVCC attended a club outing at the Highlands Center in North Truro. We met at 9:00 A.M. and were greeted by a ranger who gave us guidelines for our visit. The Highlands Center, formerly an Air Force station, was a great location for photography enthusiasts. Club members explored and photographed buildings and industrial equipment, many of which were remnants from the Cold War era. Additionally, the site featured unique metal sculptures by Donald Gerola, ghost town residences, and dramatic views from a bluff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
Ten of our members traveled up to Framingham to attend Tony Sweet's presentation which featured demonstrations of the latest technologies in digital photography, including HDR (High Dynamic Range) and plugs-ins. Tony showed many of his own photographs and gave valuable hands on demonstrations of how to use these new techniques. The event was attended by over 100 people from various camera clubs.
The group photo shows the following members (from the left around the piano): Larry Sweeney, Gail Burke, Peter Selig, Judith Gardner, Charlie Burke, Debbie Owen, Janet DiMattia, Ernie Holmes, Ellie Holmes, and Arnold Kaplan. The event was attended by over 100 people.
